My Journey
For a more concise summary of my journey, check out my resume.
My journey to engineering has been an incredibly exciting and rewarding experience from the beginning to the present. I first developed a passion for engin eering when I entered into the world of competitive robotics in 7th grade. Learning skills such as teamwork, creativity, and the engineering design process started a spark that has turned into an ever-growing flame. I competed in competitive robotics leagues all the way through my senior year of high school, winning numerous prestigious awards, most notably runner up Inspire Award and runner up Alliance Captain at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championships in 2022.
Robotics taught me what it means to think, work, fail, and succeed as an engineer. It was there that I began to work in all areas of engineering, from mechanical to software and everything in between. Even as I began to focus more on programming as time went on, I always sought time to work on electrical and mechanical projects, further honing those skills.
As I began taking programming more seriously as a professional career, I began to seek out opportunities for projects that I could work on to grow my skills and my outreach . The first of these projects was a tool known as VSABot, a multi-platform high-capacity online moderation bot meant to lighten the burden of human volunteer moderators for online school forum platforms. This project has seen huge success in this school, and I still actively update and maintain the project to this day. It was not long before I began to work on more projects for more people, most notably working on a website built in Craft CMS 5, another project that I still work on to this day. This opportunity lead to many more opportunities that involved embedded applications, electro mechanical assemblies, and many more.
While projects for work are often fun and rewarding, I always try to find personal projects to work on to grow my skills even more and to experiment with new fields. Some of these projects are highlighted HERE, and my hope is that I will continue this practice for many years to come. As I continue to learn and grow in this vastly expanding field of engineering, my only hope is that I will be able to serve others through my work and to truly make the li ves of others better in whatever way I can.
